About the position

The Research Coordinator II position in Pediatrics Neonatology at Texas Medical Center involves managing and coordinating research projects aimed at improving the lives of infants and families. This role supports the UTH NICU follow-up program, recognized for its exceptional service, and collaborates with neonatologists and research networks to conduct impactful research. The coordinator will handle project management tasks, assist in grant preparation, and ensure data integrity while providing administrative guidance to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day project management coordination for research projects including personnel, facilities, and supplies.
  • Assists in the preparation of progress reports and grant proposals to private foundations and governmental agencies.
  • Prepares budgets, initiates re-budgeting requests, and authorizes expenditures for multiple projects.
  • Prepares annual progress reports and applications for various committees, ensuring staff training compliance.
  • Maintains confidential records of collected data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepares draft reports and communications for departmental leadership.
  • Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.
  • Provides administrative direction and guidance to administrative staff personnel within the department.
  • May review contracts and develop training materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • Two years of relevant experience, with the possibility of substituting experience with equivalent education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
