The Research Data Analyst 1 position in the Abdominal Transplantation division at Stanford's School of Medicine is a hybrid role that combines on-site and remote work, depending on operational needs. This position is situated within the Department of Surgery, which is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, delivering outstanding education, and advancing the field of surgery through innovative research. The Transplant Immunology lab and Division of Abdominal Transplantation focus on basic and translational research aimed at understanding immune pathways related to transplantation, infection, and cancer, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for solid organ transplant recipients. As a Research Data Analyst 1, the successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing high-dimensional datasets generated by laboratory personnel to evaluate experimental results under the guidance of project researchers or investigators. The role involves compiling, managing, and cleaning datasets, employing both new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize multivariate relationships in data. The analyst will create databases and reports, implement algorithms and statistical models, and perform biocomputational analyses tailored to data and reporting requirements. Additionally, the analyst will identify potentially problematic data, make necessary corrections, and suggest solutions to data issues stemming from input errors or inadequate field edits. The position also requires the development of reports, figures, charts, graphs, and tables for use by investigators and for publication and presentation purposes. Collaboration with faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods is essential, as is the provision of documentation based on audit and reporting criteria. The analyst will communicate with government officials, grant agencies, and collaborators to ensure compliance with data management and sharing policies. Other duties may also be assigned as needed.
