About the position

The Research Data Analyst II (RDA II) plays a crucial role in the Department of Transportation by leading the collection, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of transportation-related financial and statistical information. This position is responsible for preparing reports for the Federal Highway Administration and other stakeholders, while also forecasting trends in the highway construction contracting industry. The RDA II serves as a key advisor to senior management, maintaining professionalism and technical competency in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze transportation-related financial and statistical information.
  • Document findings for submission to the Federal Highway Administration and Department of General Services.
  • Forecast trends in the highway construction contracting industry.
  • Prepare mandated reports based on research and data collection.
  • Serve as a key advisor to senior management on data-related matters.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in data mining and analysis.
  • Strong writing skills for report preparation and documentation.
  • Ability to manage state/government contracts.
  • Project management skills.
