The CalSTRS Enterprise Strategy Management Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Research Data Analyst II, with consideration for a Research Data Analyst I on the Continuous Improvement Team. This division is pivotal in driving strategic planning, organizational performance, enterprise sustainability, continuous improvement, research, and innovation at CalSTRS. The collaborative efforts within the division enhance CalSTRS' capacity to integrate business intelligence into organizational planning and performance, ultimately informing the Teachers' Retirement Board and CalSTRS executive staff to make sound decisions aligned with CalSTRS' strategic goals. The Continuous Improvement Team is tasked with planning, organizing, directing, and executing all activities related to the development, maintenance, implementation, and execution of business process improvement and business process reengineering. This team works to foster organizational awareness, bridge cross-functional process improvement, enhance efficiency and effectiveness in work processes, support risk analysis and mitigation, and formalize and document processes. Under the general supervision of the Research Data Manager, the Research Data Analyst II will identify complex operational improvement opportunities using various established methodologies. The incumbent will be responsible for business process analysis and implementation, performing extensive research, analytical, and advisory duties related to Business Process Improvement (BPI) and Business Process Reengineering (BPR) activities for CalSTRS, while also supporting the innovation program as needed. The ideal candidate will possess experience leading projects with multi-disciplinary team members and cross-functional stakeholders, developing data collection plans, and performing data research and analysis to identify trends and patterns from historical data. Additionally, the candidate should have a working knowledge of change management strategies and process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma and Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA).
