About the position

The Health Rates Analyst position at CalPERS involves providing project management and analytical support for the Health Rates Development Services Unit. The role is crucial in ensuring that CalPERS meets its goals of improving healthcare quality, access, and affordability for over 1.5 million members. The analyst will work under the supervision of the Research Data Supervisor II and will be involved in the annual Rate Development Process, which includes developing and reporting health plan premiums.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and analytical support for the Health Rates Development Services Unit.
• Assist in the annual Rate Development Process (RDP) for health plan premiums.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare quality and affordability standards for CalPERS members.
• Collaborate with team members to analyze healthcare data and costs.
• Prepare reports and presentations based on data analysis.

Requirements

• Experience in data analysis techniques and methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently under general direction.
• Strong attention to detail in performing analyses of moderate complexity.
• Knowledge of healthcare data components and health insurance rate development.
