The Research Data Analyst III position at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is focused on supporting the Resilience Institute Bridging Biological Training and Research (RIBBiTR) in managing ecological data workflows. This role involves developing and maintaining relational databases, facilitating data sharing among researchers, and assisting in the analysis of ecological datasets. The position is full-time and offers the flexibility of remote work or being based at various campuses.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relational databases (PostgreSQL) to store collected field and laboratory data.
• Provide access to databases via user-friendly clients (e.g., Shiny app).
• Develop digital applications for the collection of field and laboratory data.
• Facilitate the use and sharing of collected data among the institute's researchers via trainings.
• Assist researchers in developing reproducible workflows and archiving of collected data and associated metadata in public and private repositories.
• Assist with or lead analysis of specific RIBBiTR datasets and co-author scientific papers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in natural sciences, computer science, or related field at time of application.
• A minimum of two years experience in data management, particularly in the natural sciences.
