The Senior Research/Data Analyst position at COLSA involves maintaining analytical systems and ensuring the accuracy of data while acting as a liaison with various business units. The role requires the collection of data from multiple USAF operating systems, identifying both positive and negative trends, and reporting detailed information through graphs, charts, and spreadsheets as necessary. A critical aspect of the job is to examine and validate the accuracy of USAF maintenance data, including systems such as G081, Program Depot Maintenance Scheduling System (PDMSS), and Logistics Evaluation Assurance Program (LEAP), to ensure that the data produces meaningful insights. Collaboration is key in this role, as the analyst will work closely with USAF organizations to enhance the accuracy of data inputs, thereby ensuring desired outcomes. The position also demands the independent development of mathematical models and computer programs to evaluate and predict aircraft parameter performance, utilizing tools such as JMP, MATLAB, Simio, Python, and VBA. A strong knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods is essential for developing, adapting, modifying, and applying models to resolve problems or clarify alternative solutions. The Senior Research/Data Analyst will participate in study teams, originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies, and execute projects within established financial and time constraints. The ability to design, build, and communicate findings using visualization techniques, particularly with Tableau, is preferred, although other tools are accepted. The analyst will apply analytic techniques to evaluate project objectives and contribute to the implementation of strategic direction, utilizing data modeling and virtualization principles. Additionally, the role involves developing reports and deliverables for management and effectively communicating with stakeholders. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary to negotiate complex issues and maintain good working relationships.
