About the position

The Research Data Analyst position at the Population Studies and Training Center (PSTC) at Brown University focuses on conducting rigorous scientific research to develop scalable policy solutions aimed at empowering families in the United States to rise out of poverty. The role involves data analysis, statistical development, and collaboration with a research team to study various socio-economic factors affecting communities. This position is grant-funded for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analysis and statistical development.
  • Write academic papers and prepare presentations.
  • Communicate with team members, media, and other project-relevant partners.
  • Gather and clean datasets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 0-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a research assistant, especially in quantitatively analyzing big real-time data, strongly preferred.
  • Programming experience in Stata, SAS, R, and/or Python.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Excellent conceptual understanding of economic models and econometric/statistical techniques.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
