About the position

The Research Data Analyst position at Johns Hopkins University involves providing research support for various studies, including those focused on public health issues in rural Appalachia and Indigenous communities. The role requires collaboration with the Principal Investigator and research team members to manage, analyze, interpret, and report study findings, contributing to presentations and manuscripts.

Responsibilities

  • Data management including developing and implementing QA/QC procedures (including data checking and cleaning of data).
  • Merging data, creating and recoding variables to prepare data for analyses.
  • Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data using a variety of standard techniques and platforms.
  • Presenting and summarizing analyses in various formats including raw output, tables, and graphics, oral and written reports.
  • Participating in staff and analysis meetings.
  • Supporting study implementation and overall instrumentation.
  • Participation in data collection may be included.
  • Using standard computer software packages for analyzing data using a variety of standard statistical techniques (e.g. regression and longitudinal data analysis).
  • Proficiency in at least SAS or Stata for conducting quantitative data analyses.
  • Supporting IRB submissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Nice-to-haves

  • Research Data Analyst experience.
  • Experience with substance use or HIV/STI research and writing research manuscripts.
