About the position

The Research Data Specialist for Thoracic H&N Med Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center plays a crucial role in supporting clinical and laboratory studies. This position involves screening patients for clinical trials, coordinating with various medical teams, and maintaining accurate patient logs. The ideal candidate will have a background in research study experience, particularly in a lab or clinical setting, and will be responsible for data coordination and communication among clinical teams. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence two days a week.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients for clinical/laboratory studies.
• Review treatment records, clinical evaluations, diagnostic test results, and pathological information.
• Coordinate patient screening processes with fast track teams, RNs, PIs, and treating MDs.
• Serve as the point of contact for clinicians regarding potential study candidates.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient logs from initial contact to enrollment.
• Assist with regulatory tasks and ensure consistency in documentation.
• Participate in protocol start-up meetings and close-out visits.
• Attend planning conferences for patient screening and study updates.
• Transcribe study data accurately to paper and/or electronic case report forms (CRF).
• Communicate effectively with research and clinical teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Two years of research study experience is required, or equivalent experience may substitute for education.
• Knowledge of departmental databases and protocol electronic applications.
