About the position

The position involves assisting with data collection at research sites for livestock monitoring technology, both remotely and in person. The individual will be trained to install and maintain sensor systems in production livestock environments, with responsibilities expanding into various regions requiring air travel. The role is crucial for supporting R&D field operations and ensuring the technical needs of the projects are met.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection at research sites remotely and in person.
• Install and maintain sensor systems in production livestock environments.
• Attend and guide research project launches and periodic check-ins at research sites.
• Manage and perform technical needs of R&D field operations by traveling to trial sites across the US for system installations and troubleshooting.
• Provide remote technical support where applicable.

Requirements

• B.S. in animal science or related field, or B.S. in computer science with production agriculture experience.
• Minimum of two years in production agriculture, animal research, or IT field.
• Precise attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
• Comfortable with traveling independently to commercial livestock operations.
• Experience in handling livestock or willingness to learn.
• Experience in IT, network management, and general tech troubleshooting or willingness to learn.
• Basic mechanical technical skills, comfortable using tools to mount hardware.
• Valid US driver's license without restrictions.
• Excellent written, verbal, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with herd management software (e.g., DC 305, CattleMax).
• Experience with conducting research trials.
• Experience in customer support.
