About the position
The Research Development Partnerships Senior Consultant at The Ohio State University is responsible for cultivating and executing business opportunities with funding partners, particularly Ohio state agencies. This role aims to expand and optimize the utilization of Government Resource Center (GRC) services, providing direct customer support, advising leadership, and developing plans to attract and retain business clients. The consultant will work towards achieving high customer satisfaction and compliance with relevant regulations while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and execute business opportunities with funding partners, particularly Ohio state agencies.
- Provide direct customer support to clarify customer needs and define project scope.
- Advise GRC leadership on development opportunities and partner relationships.
- Develop and implement plans to attract new business clients and retain existing customers.
- Develop strong business rapport with new customers and connect them to GRC leadership.
- Support internal and external stakeholders to improve business relationships for GRC.
- Work towards meeting goals such as growing/retaining GRC clients and attaining high customer satisfaction.
- Provide oversight for existing requests and present proposals for new solutions and services to clients.
- Guide faculty and staff in pursuing new business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and sponsors related to GRC's services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 8 years of relevant experience required.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to establish comprehensive strategies with appropriate objectives and execution schedules.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage individuals and groups.
- Strong communication skills for successful interactions and presentations.
- Demonstrates judgment and discretion to make effective decisions and problem solve.
