About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking a Scientific Technician to join the BPD (biopharmaceutical product development) - Molecular Science team at our Waltham, MA location. This full-time, contract position is expected to last for 12 months and operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly organized, and motivated, with a strong focus on molecular biology techniques. The primary responsibilities of the Scientific Technician will include molecular cloning, small-scale RNA production, and purification. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with molecular biologists, RNA biologists, process engineers, and chemists to support the development of self-amplifying mRNA (sa-mRNA) platform technology and processes. Attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and adherence to timelines are critical for success in this role. Additionally, the technician will be expected to support team members and deliver lab responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should possess a B.S. or M.S. degree in molecular biology or a related field, with 0-3 years of industry experience. Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques such as electrophoresis, enzymatic reactions, in vitro transcription, and nucleic acid purifications is required. Preferred qualifications include experience in mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, and fluorescence/luminescence-based readouts, as well as experience in developing, validating, optimizing, and deploying cell and molecular biology-based methods.

Requirements

  • B.S./MS degree in molecular biology or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays.
