Responsibilities
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams in areas such as propulsion systems, turbomachinery, and high-speed flows.
- Develop innovative technologies and solve challenging problems for aerospace and defense applications.
- Select and deploy appropriate modeling fidelity for various problems, including high-fidelity computational models.
- Communicate research results effectively through verbal and written means.
- Participate in the creation of research proposals to RTX business units and government agencies.
Requirements
- U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible for necessary export authorizations.
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, and related fields as applied to propulsion systems and turbomachinery.
- Experience in computational fluid dynamics in relevant areas.
- A Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or closely related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or a PhD in a related field.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in mechanical or aerospace engineering or closely related field.
- Ph.D. candidates with no formal experience will be considered.
- Adaptability and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to foster positive relationships with partners.
- Experience managing uncertain requirements and developing problem-solving approaches.
