About the position

The Research Engineer II (Chemical) position at SCHOTT North America involves working within the Research and Development team to drive innovation and product development. The engineer will collaborate across various business units and engage with external partners to enhance product offerings and support business growth in North America.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement safe, repeatable, reliable, sustainable, and economically viable processes on the laboratory scale.
  • Lead and support the transfer of processes and products to production.
  • Inspire and connect with innovative partners to develop future materials and technologies.
  • Provide technical consulting and support to SCHOTT business units and engage in customer interactions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to manage resources and test new materials and processes from concept to launch.
  • Communicate effectively through presentations, pitches, and written reports.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property.

Requirements

  • Degree in chemical engineering, industrial process engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing scalable materials on the laboratory scale and translating laboratory-scale processes to production processes.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to develop and leverage networks.
  • Passion for materials science, technology, product development, and business.
