About the position

The Research Facility Manager at the University of Kentucky is responsible for overseeing the operations of various research facilities, including the HKRB building, mailroom, and dock management. This role involves coordinating maintenance of building systems, managing space utilization, and ensuring budget compliance. The position requires flexibility and teamwork to meet the goals of the UK Research Facilities and the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR).

Responsibilities

• Oversee HKRB building operations, including mailroom and dock management.
• Coordinate communication regarding building systems maintenance affecting occupants.
• Manage assigned spaces, including the 5th floor of the Lee Todd Jr. Building and BSL3 lab in HSRB.
• Assist OVPR in managing facilities space and occupant information.
• Manage badge and key requests for facility access.
• Ensure all expenditure decisions are within budget and manage the HKRB operating budget.
• Perform duties outside of normal expertise to support the mission of UK Research Facilities.

Requirements

• Master's degree (MS) required.
• 3 years of related experience required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of daily operations of loading docks and logistics.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience with shipping and logistics - Preferred
• Knowledge of maintenance, construction, and renovation-related tasks - Preferred.
