Responsibilities

• Operate complex farm machinery and equipment for field production techniques such as chemical application and plot harvesting.
• Care for livestock, including mixing and administering feed, transporting, administering medication, and checking health.
• Make adjustments and repairs to farm equipment.
• Keep simple records on feed mix ingredients, consumption, produce mortality, and other farming operations.
• Learn to lay out research plots and perform comparable farming tasks in other agricultural research areas.

Requirements

• One year of experience in the care of animals or general care of crops, shrubs, or plants.
• Experience in farm-related equipment and machinery operation.

Nice-to-haves

• College credit in agricultural courses may substitute for required experience.
