The Research Finance Analyst III position at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) involves providing comprehensive analytical, financial, and training support for contract and grant proposal development, grant-writing, funding administration, and budget development. This role encompasses a variety of activities, including pre-award proposal initiatives, management of funds post-award, and closeout activities for federal, state, local, and private sponsors. The analyst will engage in analyzing research funding trends and sources, forecasting, planning, and managing research portfolios. This includes coordinating, identifying, developing, and presenting proposals, contracts, and other agreements, as well as reviewing proposals to ensure compliance with institutional guidelines and program success. The position also requires negotiating, administering, and monitoring contract and grant awards, ensuring compliance with regulations, terms, and conditions, as well as financial management and reporting, and overseeing sub-award and subcontract issuance and administration. The successful candidate will be part of the Department of Medicine, which is the largest department in the School of Medicine at UCSF, comprising nearly 600 full-time faculty members engaged in leading research, clinical, and educational programs. The Department operates across four sites and has a decentralized organizational structure. The Division of Gastroenterology, a significant subspecialty division within the Department, is involved in patient care, teaching, and research, with a total of 125 personnel, including faculty, fellows, administrative support staff, and research personnel. The Benioff Center for Microbiome Medicine, also part of the Department, focuses on integrative human microbiome research and provides access to advanced technology and educational programming. This position offers a salary range of $81,000 to $121,600 annually, with placement within this range dependent on various factors, including work experience and internal equity. The role is full-time and allows for a flexible work arrangement, combining onsite and remote work. The candidate will be expected to work Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
