About the position

The Research Informatics Applications Analyst II is responsible for the implementation and support of applications within the healthcare system. This role involves working closely with end users to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues, assisting with software conversions and implementations, and maintaining high-quality operational standards. The analyst will demonstrate leadership skills while collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize application performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates accountability in delivering assigned tasks.
  • Reports project issues and accomplishments to the project manager.
  • Delivers work products that meet project requirements and departmental guidelines.
  • Assists in the analysis and documentation of current and future needs and workflows.
  • Participates in the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, support, and evaluation of clinical or business application systems.
  • Contributes to team and project meetings, identifying integrated issues requiring collaboration.
  • Works collaboratively with users/stakeholders in the design and implementation of applications.
  • Designs, documents, builds, and modifies complex applications under general supervision.
  • Researches opportunities for optimizations based on end-user feedback.
  • Ensures interface design and development meet end-user needs and troubleshoots interface issues.
  • Obtains certification or proficiency in assigned Epic applications within 6 months of employment.
  • Maintains expert knowledge in applications or technical areas and assists in training other analysts.
  • Leads small projects using project management methodologies and tools.
  • Prepares meeting agendas and facilitates meetings effectively.
  • Coordinates project activities, including meetings and presentations.
  • Documents testing status and leads troubleshooting activities.
  • Participates in communication development of optimizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting as an Application Analyst or 4 years of experience as an Application Analyst.
  • Certification or proficiency in assigned Epic application within 6 months of employment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in Computer and Information Science.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a healthcare setting as an Application Analyst.
  • National certification like CPHIMS from HIMSS.
