About the position

The Research Informatics Applications Analyst II is responsible for the implementation and support of applications within the healthcare setting. This role involves troubleshooting application issues, assisting with software conversions, and ensuring high-quality, efficient products for end users. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders to design and optimize applications, maintain installed software, and demonstrate leadership in project management and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates accountability in delivering assigned tasks and reports project issues to the project manager.
  • Assists in the analysis and documentation of current and future needs and workflows.
  • Participates in the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, support, and evaluation of clinical or business application systems.
  • Contributes to team and project meetings, identifying integrated issues requiring collaboration.
  • Works collaboratively with users/stakeholders in the design and implementation of applications.
  • Works independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Designs, documents, builds, and modifies complex applications to meet organizational needs.
  • Researches opportunities for optimizations based on end-user feedback.
  • Ensures interface design and development meet end-user needs and troubleshoots interface issues.
  • Obtains certification or proficiency in assigned Epic application within 6 months of employment.
  • Maintains expert knowledge in applications or technical areas and understands their impacts.
  • Demonstrates competence in assisting with training other analysts and provides excellent customer service.
  • Leads small projects using project management methodologies and tools.
  • Coordinates project activities, prepares meeting agendas, and facilitates meetings effectively.
  • Accountable for delivering projects as assigned and ensuring adherence to departmental standards.
  • Organizes turnover documentation and presentations for project handoff.
  • Understands testing concepts and develops test scripts based on workflows and software enhancements.
  • Documents testing status and leads troubleshooting activities.
  • Participates in communication development of optimizations and responds to off-duty calls.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Computer and Information Science and 2 years' experience in a Healthcare setting as an Application Analyst, or 4 years' experience as an Application Analyst.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Information Science or related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a Healthcare setting as an Application Analyst.
  • Certification or proficiency in assigned Epic application or demonstrated learning of other assigned applications, to be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • National certification like CPHIMS from HIMSS.
  • Certification in one Epic application.
