About the position

The Research Intern position in Dr. Reitzel's lab at MD Anderson Cancer Center focuses on Tobacco Health Equity and Cancer Prevention Science. The role offers interns the opportunity to engage in various projects tailored to their interests, providing a comprehensive learning experience in public health research and project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project meetings based on current assignments and funding sources.
  • Meet regularly with the direct mentor/supervisor or their designees.
  • Plan, conduct, and document notes in the workplace for assignments.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with research team members, faculty colleagues, and staff as requested.
  • Participate in team events to learn about roles and career paths.
  • Lead assignments related to the development of community-facing products.
  • Read recommended articles about material design.
  • Assist with material and resource dissemination, including creating implementation guides.
  • Enter data onto tracking sheets to denote work completed.

Requirements

  • Must hold a bachelor's degree obtained within 1 year of application.
  • Previous research experience is required.

Benefits

  • Stipend between $28,000 and $36,000.
