About the position

The Research Intern position at Microsoft Research (MSR) offers a dynamic environment for pursuing a research career, collaborating with world-class researchers and engineers. This internship provides an opportunity to tackle real-world problems while contributing to the academic community through publications and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems.
• Collaborate with fellow doctoral candidates and leading researchers.
• Present findings and contribute to the research community.
• Work closely with a mentor throughout the 12-week internship.
• Engage in networking opportunities within the research environment.

Requirements

• Currently accepted or enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
• At least 1 year of experience in conducting research or developing software in one or more areas of computer science.

• Ability to execute a research agenda and collaborate effectively with other researchers and engineers.
• Capable of making relevant research contributions, such as peer-reviewed publications in top-tier conferences and journals.
• Proficient communication skills in the area of natural language processing, deep learning, graph modeling, knowledge representation, or document understanding.
