Responsibilities

• Conduct research and apply theories in practical settings.
• Collaborate with fellow doctoral candidates and researchers.
• Present findings and contribute to the research community.
• Drive a self-contained component of a large-scale research project.
• Engage in socio-technical research planning productivity and developer well-being.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• At least 1 year of experience in conducting research and writing peer-reviewed publications.
• Demonstrable proficiency in software development and the ability to translate research concepts into working implementations.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to think unconventionally to derive creative solutions.
• Active research in areas such as developer productivity or software engineering applied to AI/ML systems.
• Effective interpersonal skills and cross-group collaboration abilities.
• Published in ACM or IEEE venues such as ICSE or CHI.
• Experience using Large Language Models in software development.
