About the position

The Research/Lab Technician II - Chemistry position at the University of Washington involves assisting with the technical aspects of wet-lab processes, including the preparation of mass spectrometry samples and the analysis of metabolomics, lipidomics, and exposomics. The role requires adherence to established Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) and involves various laboratory tasks to support research studies.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with research studies by performing experiments and assays, collecting data, preparing solutions, and setting up and maintaining equipment.
  • Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
  • Prepares tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
  • Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
