About the position

The Research Operations Coordinator at the Immunology Center of Gia is responsible for coordinating and supervising a large immunology research group, ensuring the effective and safe functioning of research operations related to cancer and cardiovascular diseases. This role involves performing mass cytometry experiments, maintaining specialized analytical equipment, and advising researchers on project setup and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective, efficient, and safe functioning of cancer and cardiovascular disease research within IMMCG.
  • Administer and manage a variety of analytical equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the CyTOF XT instrument.
  • Coordinate with the Flow Core Scientific director for experiment design and execution.
  • Maintain specialized analytical instrumentation, including testing, calibrating, and overseeing repairs.
  • Compose Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related documents to ensure compliance with University Systems.
  • Coordinate the isolation and storage of human PBMC samples for clinical research studies.
  • Maintain a current and accurate database of PBMC samples for laboratory use.
  • Advise and assist researchers in setting up and operating research projects.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree with experience in research.
  • Demonstration of scientific excellence and collaboration as indicated by co-authored scientific publications.
  • B.S. in a research-related field with 10 years' experience or M.S. in a research-related field with 5 years' experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
