The Research Operations Specialist at Intermountain Healthcare plays a crucial role in supporting clinical research and studies by assisting a team of research enrollment specialists. Responsibilities

  • Enroll participants in research projects through various methods including in-person, phone calls, mail-outs, and the Internet.
  • Educate, train, and coach team members to enhance their skills and ensure they have the necessary tools and knowledge.
  • Assist in the development of team and individual goals on an annual basis and review these goals periodically with staff.
  • Collect, input, and maintain data in both Intermountain and external databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols.
  • Edit and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to meet study criteria and complete necessary documentation.
  • Act as a problem solver by utilizing available resources to facilitate and resolve policy and procedural issues.
  • Ensure the research team follows all relevant regulations and guidelines, seeking guidance from the Principal Investigator or Manager as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of research methodologies and processes.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex messages clearly.
  • Experience with basic computer programs including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Familiarity with research applications such as RedCap, Clinical Trial Management Systems, IRB software, and Sales Force.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of research experience working with human subjects.
  • Experience working in healthcare settings.
  • Experience in a leadership role accountable for training and development.
  • Customer service experience.
