The Research Operations Specialist at Intermountain Healthcare plays a crucial role in supporting a dedicated team of research enrollment specialists. This position is integral to the success of clinical research and various research studies conducted within the organization. The specialist is responsible for enrolling participants in research projects and assisting with a range of research-related duties that align with the objectives of the Investigator and the Research Department. This role involves educating, training, coaching, and problem-solving to ensure that team members possess the necessary skills and tools to perform their jobs effectively. In addition to participant enrollment, the Research Operations Specialist is tasked with the development of team and individual goals on an annual basis, reviewing these goals periodically with staff to ensure alignment and progress. The specialist also plays a key role in facilitating the enrollment of research participants through various methods, including in-person interactions, phone calls, mail-outs, and online platforms. A thorough understanding of research protocols is essential, as the specialist must ensure that all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulatory standards. This includes the collection, input, and maintenance of data in both Intermountain and external databases, while adhering to guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies such as the FDA, IRB, NIH, and NCI. The position also requires the specialist to act as a problem solver, utilizing available resources to address and resolve policy and procedural issues that may arise. Additionally, the specialist is responsible for editing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure they meet the criteria of ongoing studies. Overall, this role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of research operations within Intermountain Healthcare.
