About the position

GDH Consulting is seeking a Research Participant to engage in a hypobaric research study. The role involves attending a single experimental session where participants will simulate airplane travel at varying altitudes, specifically between ground level and 45,000 feet. The study aims to evaluate multiple test conditions over approximately 8.5 hours, primarily on Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Attend one experimental session in a hypobaric research chamber.
  • Act as a simulated airplane passenger at various pressure-altitudes.
  • Provide medical data during the testing session.
  • Complete a health history questionnaire prior to participation.

Requirements

  • Current FAA 3rd class medical certificate or higher (non-expired).
  • Ages 18 to 50 years.
  • Non-smoker and non-vaper.
  • BMI less than 40 based on initial weight and height.
  • Hemoglobin (Hb) greater than 12.0 g/dL and hematocrit (HCT) greater than 37% on the day of the flight.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comfortable in a testing environment where medical data will be collected.
  • Ability to follow written and spoken English instructions.
