About the position

The Research Program Manager at Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance is responsible for managing and supporting various aspects of orthopedic research. This role involves overseeing patient enrollment, maintaining clinical research data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating communication between research teams and participants. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and enroll eligible patients according to protocol requirements.
  • Organize, enter, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of clinical research data.
  • Lead the research team in assessing feasibility and managing research protocols.
  • Maintain regulatory binders for each assigned protocol and prepare and submit annual renewal requests, amendments, and adverse event reports according to IRB and Sponsor requirements.
  • Verify patient eligibility for studies by comparing patient history and clinical assessments with protocol requirements.
  • Ensure timely scheduling of participant appointments, tests, and follow-up visits to meet protocol requirements.
  • Maintain a research binder for each participant and collect, enter, and compile participant data using data management software.
  • Maintain a protocol database and/or online spreadsheet for tracking participant activity, financial management, and data analysis as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data for use by the Principal Investigator in treatment planning, presentations, and publication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Science, Data/Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities effectively.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and written and oral communication necessary for effective interaction with colleagues.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently, as a team leader, and as a team member.
  • Proven aptitude with common software such as Microsoft Office applications, AirTable, BaseCamp, Oracle, etc.
  • Willingness to continually self-educate.
