About the position

The Research Project Coordinator at Tufts Medicine plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the Predictive Analytics and Comparative Effectiveness (PACE) Center. This position involves coordinating various research program functions, managing timelines, and overseeing staffing efforts. The coordinator will act as a liaison with funding agencies and collaborators while providing administrative support to the Center Director, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the growth of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate outgoing grant and contract proposals, new grants and contracts setups, assigning staff effort, and reporting.
  • Coordinate the Center's outreach initiatives, including training seminars, public workshops, and Advisory Board activities.
  • Assist the Center Director with management of PACE research faculty and staff, including staffing plans and job postings.
  • Represent the Center Director to investigators, collaborators, and senior-level government officials.
  • Provide administrative support to the Center Director, including calendar coordination and travel planning.
  • Establish and maintain record-keeping and filing systems for various research project-related materials.
  • Conduct literature searches using the Internet.
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative activities of PACE, including facilities issues and employee reimbursements.
  • Track and coordinate PACE public relations efforts and distribution of newsletters.
  • Participate in research projects and assist other staff members as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to identify issues and implement resolution strategies.
  • Basic financial analytical skills for grant and contract development.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in academic or medical research.
