About the position

The Research Project Coordinator at Northwestern University will support and coordinate various research activities within social-behavioral or biomedical research projects. This role emphasizes data management and analysis, ensuring the operational aspects of ongoing studies are efficiently handled. The coordinator will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain the quality and integrity of the data collected, contributing to protocol development, data analysis, and administrative support for grants and research publications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily research activities, including scheduling and communication with team members.
  • Provide logistical support to ensure project activities are completed on schedule.
  • Assist with the management, cleaning, and analysis of large datasets.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data used in research projects.
  • Document data collection processes and prepare summaries for reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of research publications and presentations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of study protocols, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of grant applications and reports for funding agencies.
  • Track and monitor project budgets and expenditures.
  • Train, direct, and supervise research staff, students, and graduate assistants.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics, data science, statistics, or a related field.
  • 1 year of research study or relevant experience, or 3 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree.
  • Supervisory or project management experience required.
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as R, Stata, and/or Python.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data analysis and management using statistical software.
  • Familiarity with basic research protocols and compliance with IRB standards.
  • Prior experience in coordinating research projects in social-behavioral or biomedical fields.
  • Knowledge of grant writing and budget tracking for research projects.
  • Interest in policy-oriented research or social equity initiatives.
