About the position

The Research Project Coordinator at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Dentistry will support research activities within the Division of Operative Dentistry and Cariology. This role involves coordinating day-to-day operations of research studies, managing data, and ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations. The coordinator will also recruit study participants, manage data collection, and produce reports to enhance research outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of research studies in the department.
  • Maintain data, adhere to grant expenditures, and evaluate project outcomes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for study participants and research personnel.
  • Independently communicate with the Principal Investigator and manage research activities.
  • Recruit and screen volunteers for research studies, advising them on study objectives and obtaining consent.
  • Lead the collection and management of study data, developing data collection instruments and maintaining databases.
  • Track, report, and audit study data and regulatory documentation.
  • Develop and produce reports summarizing study data for stakeholders.
  • Monitor activities to ensure compliance with protocols and relevant regulations.
  • Assist in budget development and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Process and transport specimens to laboratories according to established techniques.
  • Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to obtain blood specimens.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, emergency services, chemistry, biology, public health, psychology, or another scientific discipline appropriate to the position.
  • Prior experience in research preferred.
