About the position

The Research Project Manager (CAES Program Development) at Rutgers University plays a vital role in managing various projects and programs within the Center for Advanced Energy Systems (CAES). This position involves collaboration with the Department of Energy's Industrial Training and Assessment Center (ITAC) Program, focusing on program quality assurance and serving as a liaison between ITACs and DOE. The role requires independent work with broadly defined objectives, contributing to energy assessments for small and medium-sized manufacturing plants, and integrating DOE priorities into operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and shares contributions with other IAC universities to enhance program quality.
  • Integrates DOE priorities on practices and technologies into IAC operations.
  • Collaborates with third-party organizations and national laboratories to support program initiatives.
  • Coordinates CAES IAC research for new program features and publications.
  • Partners with the DOE program team to maximize the reach of Implementation grants.
  • Provides training on technical issues and programmatic priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in energy systems or a similar field.
  • Experience in leading university research programs.
  • Experience in leading team meetings and hiring/training new staff.
  • Familiarity with the Industrial Assessment Center program or DOE funded programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Energy Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
