About the position

The Research Projects Coordinator at Texas A&M University Health Science Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Institute for Healthcare Access by managing various administrative tasks related to research projects. This position involves monitoring project compliance, coordinating agreements, and ensuring effective communication among team members and leadership. The coordinator is responsible for creating reports, tracking agreements, and identifying grant opportunities, contributing to the overall success of the Institute's initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project leads with specific administrative tasks related to their assigned projects.
  • Organize and communicate details of projects and specific assignments to team members and serve as a liaison between those team members and leadership.
  • Assist with drafting protocol submissions for completion and adherence to institutional policies and Federal regulations.
  • Document and maintain business practices associated with research and other compliance programs.
  • Ensure project plans are reviewed, approved, and conducted in accordance with appropriate government regulations and guidance, funding agency specific guidelines, institutional policies, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain efficient and compliant processes for the review, approval, and oversight of subjects in research.
  • Track agreements to ensure they are executed in a timely manner, and coordinate with researchers, department heads, and deans to resolve any contract issues.
  • Update and maintain agreement log.
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities by drafting proposals and applications.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations with respect to the program and/or project's research findings.
  • Assist with monitoring Financial Conflicts of Interest compliance and coordinate with principal investigators on updating annual disclosures and management plans as necessary.
  • Assist with negotiating non-sponsored research agreements to ensure all compliance requirements are met and continue to be met.
  • Assist with negotiating terms and conditions of agreements to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures, and federal and state law.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years' experience in office, program, or project administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in creation and management of project plans and processes.
  • Experience in data collection, program evaluation, assessment and research, and/or educational research.
  • Experience with report and/or manuscript-writing.
  • Experience with grant writing.
