About the position

The Recruitment Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the research objectives of the Henry Ford Medical Group by coordinating various procedural efforts under the supervision of the Project Manager and/or Principal Investigator. This position may involve functioning as the lead recruiter on assigned studies, which entails direct contact with potential and enrolled study participants. The coordinator will be responsible for organizing study enrollment and engagement events, as well as collecting data that includes supporting and completing patient appointments. The role requires a balance of fieldwork and administrative tasks, necessitating strong customer service and critical thinking skills to effectively engage with participants and meet study goals. In this position, the Recruitment Coordinator will be expected to work independently while implementing clinical protocols or research studies with limited direction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of interacting and communicating with the general public, providing information, and answering questions, preferably in a clinical setting. Flexibility is essential, as the role may require working evenings and weekends to accommodate study needs. The coordinator will also need reliable transportation to navigate between office and clinical settings, ensuring that all logistical aspects of participant engagement are managed effectively. Overall, the Recruitment Coordinator is integral to the success of research studies, promoting teamwork and enthusiasm to meet program goals and enrollment metrics. This role not only contributes to the advancement of medical research but also enhances the health journey of nearly 2 million people served by Henry Ford Health.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate various procedural efforts for assigned studies under the supervision of the Project Manager and/or Principal Investigator.
  • Function as the lead recruiter on studies, responsible for direct contact with potential and enrolled study participants.
  • Organize study enrollment and engagement events to facilitate participant involvement.
  • Collect data and support the completion of patient appointments as part of the research process.
  • Perform both fieldwork and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of research studies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of working independently and implementing clinical protocols or research studies with limited direction.
  • Experience interacting and communicating with the general public, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred, with adult phlebotomy skills strongly encouraged or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a results-oriented approach.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in a research setting is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed.
