As a Research Revenue Cycle Billing Analyst at UCLA Health, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of hospital and physician service charges related to clinical trials, research, and grants. You will be responsible for analyzing clinical documentation and coding to differentiate these activities effectively. In this role, you will resolve various issues that arise in relation to clinical trials, grants, claims, customer service, and collections. Your analytical skills will be essential in navigating these challenges and ensuring that all processes are handled efficiently. You will utilize medical records and billing data to correct charge edits, which is vital for the smooth processing of billing operations. Maintaining expertise in CPT, Modifiers, ICD, and PCS codes is a key aspect of this position, as it supports both billing and compliance efforts. You will also collaborate closely with clinical research departments, serving as a go-to resource for all research-related activities. This collaborative environment will require strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily reviews of hospital and physician service charges related to clinical trials, research, and grants.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, required.
  • A CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, CPC, or CPB certification, required.

Nice-to-haves

  • CHONC certification and Hematology/Oncology billing experience, highly desired.
