About the position

The Research Scientist I position at the Vos Lab focuses on studying the coupling of gene expression and genome architecture. The role involves leading an individual project while collaborating with a larger research team. The successful candidate will engage in various biochemical and structural biology techniques to analyze interactions and regulatory mechanisms of gene expression machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an individual research project.
  • Conduct protein expression and purification.
  • Perform molecular cloning and cell culture work.
  • Utilize biochemical and structural approaches including X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
  • Analyze interactions between machines involved in gene expression and genome organization.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field.
  • At least two years of work experience in a biochemistry/structural biology laboratory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with molecular cloning.
