About the position

The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College is seeking a Research Scientist/Analyst to join the Department of Epidemiology. This position involves working under the supervision of senior faculty members to conduct statistical analyses that are crucial to the department's research initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for data preparation, processing, and modeling, tailored to the specific nature of the data being analyzed. This role will also require the preparation of comprehensive reports detailing the methods used and the results obtained from the analyses. The tasks assigned to the Research Scientist/Analyst will stem from various sub-projects linked to the Department's extensive research portfolio. These projects may include investigations into the environmental effects on maternal and child health, utilizing a diverse array of data types. The data will encompass health survey responses, medical notes extraction, biologic samples, device measurements, and omics data. The successful candidate will be expected to write code and perform analyses as per an agreed-upon plan, ensuring that all documentation of the analysis process and results is meticulously prepared. Additionally, the candidate will engage in discussions regarding the results with supervisors and the broader research team as appropriate. This position demands a flexible work schedule, the ability to meet deadlines, and a strong attention to detail. Candidates should possess either a Master's or PhD degree with a substantial focus on statistics. Experience with microbiome analyses will be considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's suitability for this role.
