About the position

Cyentech Consulting LLC is seeking a Research Scientist / Applied Geophysicist to join their Houston-based team. This full-time role focuses on developing advanced geophysical modeling algorithms and high-end data processing software to address industrial challenges in oil and gas, geothermal, and CO2 sequestration. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a values-driven team to innovate and enhance geophysical data processing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop geophysical forward and inverse modeling algorithms.
• Create high-end data processing software packages.

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree in Geophysics, Geoscience, Electrical Engineering, Applied/Computational Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with numerical methods such as finite difference, finite element, and integral equations.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
