The Research Scientist Assistant I position at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is a part-time role within the Civil Engineering department, focusing on advanced research in sustainable construction materials for infrastructure applications. In this role, the Research Scientist Assistant I will conduct research on advanced engineered materials, focusing on their durability and sustainability. The candidate will perform materials characterization using techniques such as X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Raman spectroscopy. Additionally, the assistant will support research on the electrochemical properties and mechanical behavior of next-generation structural materials, contributing to experimental, analytical, and computational modeling efforts. The position also requires active participation in ongoing research projects, including the processing and manufacturing of construction materials. The assistant will guide lab visitors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and will act as a bridge between materials science departments and CACM, promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange.
