About the position

The Research Scientist - Cell Lab - Technical Project Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for leading complex analytical development projects, creating and enhancing analytical methods, and providing technical guidance to internal teams and clients. This role involves significant interaction with clients, project management, and mentorship of junior staff, all aimed at improving patient health outcomes through innovative laboratory services.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex analytical development and specialty technology projects.
• Create new analytical methods and enhance existing methods.
• Transfer client-provided methods using multiple instrumentation techniques.
• Provide technical and regulatory consulting to internal groups and clients.
• Mentor junior staff members in laboratory activities.
• Act as the technical project leader for multiple projects.
• Interact with clients to provide technical project updates.
• Review and evaluate data, and write reports and protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in lab sciences (biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemistry, molecular biology) or similar.
• 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master's degree with 6+ years of experience or PhD with 4+ years of experience may also be considered.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Knowledge of industry standard processes and regulatory requirements.
• Full understanding of general chemistry and separation science.
• Ability to integrate changing regulatory or industry standards.
• Understanding of laboratory requirements, SOPs, ICH guidelines, USP requirements, and FDA guidance.
• Validated technical writing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Time management and project management skills.
