About the position

The Research Scientist position at Claros Technologies focuses on utilizing sustainable chemistries to develop advanced materials for textiles and selective filtration applications. The role involves hands-on laboratory work, collaborating with the technical team to conduct application-driven research, and contributing to the company's mission of addressing environmental challenges, particularly in PFAS remediation.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and executing laboratory experiments
  • Collecting and analyzing data
  • Reading, understanding, and interpreting scientific publications
  • Writing and presenting reports to internal team stakeholders
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace; Safety first mindset
  • General laboratory maintenance and upkeep

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in a chemistry-related field (preference for materials science or chemistry)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a research environment for private, commercial, or governmental work
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations
  • Understanding of basic chemistry principles, preferably exposure to materials science (emphasis on organic chemistry)
  • Familiarity with formulation chemistry and basic material characterization techniques such as FTIR, DSC, and TGA

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemistry-related field
