About the position

As a Research Scientist in the Trust and Safety team, you will play a crucial role in developing state-of-the-art computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), and multimodal models and algorithms. These innovations are essential for protecting our platform and users from content and behaviors that violate community guidelines and related regulations. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the user experience on TikTok, ensuring that our community remains safe and enjoyable for everyone. In this position, you will have the opportunity to participate in the development of cutting-edge content understanding models aimed at improving the recognition of violated content on TikTok. You will also be responsible for continuously optimizing our distributed model training framework to adapt to the training of large models. Responsibilities

  • Develop computer vision models or multimodality models to recognize violation content in TikTok.
  • Explore cutting-edge multimodal or computer vision large models (e.g., CLIP, COCA, ALBEF, BLIP, Flamingo, ViT-G, ViT-22B, EVA-enormous).
  • Investigate the application of large language models (LLM) in business scenarios, including pre-training, zero-shot/few-shot learning, and hard case mining.
  • Continuously optimize the training framework to better adapt to the training of large models.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
  • Research experience in at least one of the following areas: computer vision, multimodality, or LLM.
  • Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong logical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Published papers in top AI conferences or journals (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, TPAMI, IJCV) are a plus.
