About the position

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. The Privacy Innovation Lab (PI Lab) at TikTok is dedicated to exploring the next frontier of privacy technology and theory in the digitalized world. We prioritize privacy in our product design and implementation, viewing it not just as a regulatory compliance issue but as a means to foster a more trusted technological innovation that respects users' privacy choices. The PI Lab provides key insights and technical solutions on privacy-related innovations for all TikTok products and collaborates with global technical and academic communities to promote a privacy-friendly digital experience. As a Research Scientist in the Privacy Innovation Lab, you will be responsible for designing and executing both technical and theoretical research to address critical industrial challenges related to privacy innovation. You will work closely with product teams to understand key privacy requirements and provide technical consulting on privacy-related features. Additionally, you will collaborate with engineering teams to apply the technical achievements from your research to product prototyping. Your role will also involve advocating for research findings through written reports and verbal presentations, as well as representing the PI Lab in external technical and academic communities. Successful candidates must be able to commit to an onboarding date by the end of 2025. We will prioritize candidates who can clearly state their availability and graduation date in their resumes.
