Tulane University School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Scientist I position in the Department of Medicine, as part of the newly established Center for Health Outcomes, Implementation and Community-Engaged Science (CHOICES). This role is designed for individuals holding a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree, who will play a significant role in enabling research programs through collaborative interactions with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and staff. The Research Scientist I classification represents the entry-level position within the job hierarchy, allowing for a blend of research, training, and lab managerial activities. The CHOICES research scientist will engage with a multidisciplinary team to conduct clinical and/or population health research, focusing on the prevention and management of chronic diseases. The Center has established partnerships within the Gulf South and is actively involved in T3-T4 translational research that emphasizes health outcomes, adherence behaviors, digital health, health equity, and dissemination and implementation research. The research conducted primarily involves federally funded clinical trials, observational studies, and secondary analyses of existing databases. Experience working with economically or socially marginalized groups and stakeholder engagement is considered a valuable asset for candidates. The selected candidate will work closely with the Center Director, Dr. Krousel-Wood, and other faculty members to support a diverse and active extramurally funded research portfolio. This portfolio will focus on patient-centered health and behavioral outcomes research, health equity, and dissemination and implementation research. Strong skills in data analysis, scientific writing, and study management applied to health-related research are essential for success in this role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and expansion of Tulane's research and academic mission, as the hire will join a newly established research center that is a high priority for the School of Medicine and the University.
