The Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the position of Research Scientist II within the Cancer Dependency Map project. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking research initiative aimed at mapping the vulnerabilities of all human cancers. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and rapidly growing team dedicated to identifying novel therapeutic targets for both adult and pediatric cancers through the use of genome-scale CRISPR screens. In this position, you will be responsible for leading scientific projects that focus on cancer target identification. You will collaborate closely with a team of experimental scientists, project managers, and computational biologists to develop systematic approaches for identifying cancer vulnerabilities. Your work will involve the development and application of both established and novel screening modalities, as well as the analysis of data in collaboration with computational scientists to pinpoint new therapeutic targets. As a Research Scientist II, you may also supervise one or more research associates to help achieve project goals. This role requires a high level of independence and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cancer genomics and functional genomics, along with experience in CRISPR screening. This position not only offers the chance to make significant contributions to scientific literature and presentations but also provides ample opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with academic and industry partners.
