About the position

ByteDance is seeking a Research Scientist in Machine Learning for Science to join our AI-for-Science team, which focuses on leveraging advanced computational tools to tackle challenges in natural sciences such as biology, physics, and materials. Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of cutting-edge machine learning technologies in scientific areas like biology, physics, and materials.
  • Gain a deep understanding of broad areas in scientific research following state-of-the-art methods.
  • Develop and test new ideas, providing end-to-end solutions to scientific problems.

Requirements

  • Machine learning technical background in areas such as NLP, CV, RL, biology, materials, battery, quantum chemistry, or molecular simulation.
  • Proficient in Python or C/C++ with solid programming skills.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and possess good teamwork and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Candidates with top-tier conference papers (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ACL, KDD) are preferred.
  • Relevant internship experience or winners of ACM competitions are preferred.
