ByteDance is seeking a Research Scientist in Quantum Chemistry and Machine Learning to join our innovative team in San Jose, CA. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting interdisciplinary research that combines quantum computational chemistry techniques, such as Post Hartree-Fock methods and quantum embedding methods, with machine learning approaches, including Neural Network Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC). You will perform theoretical analyses on machine-learning-based quantum chemical models and conduct large-scale quantum chemical simulations utilizing MPI and GPU acceleration. Your work will involve verifying the correctness and practicality of the proposed models, ensuring that our research outputs are both innovative and applicable to real-world problems. Responsibilities

  • Carry out interdisciplinary research in quantum computational chemistry (such as Post Hartree-Fock method, quantum embedding method) and machine learning (such as Neural Network QMC).
  • Perform theoretical analysis on machine-learning-based quantum chemical models.
  • Conduct large-scale quantum chemical simulations (such as MPI, GPU acceleration) and verify the correctness and practicability of proposed models.

Requirements

  • Researchers or PhD graduates in physics, chemistry, mathematics, machine learning and related fields.
  • Research experience in quantum chemistry, machine learning or related fields.
  • Strong mathematical background and solid programming skills.
