About the position

Meta Reality Labs is seeking exceptional interns to contribute to the development of next-generation eye tracking technologies for virtual and augmented reality. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading researchers and engineers, focusing on solving complex tracking problems and delivering innovative technologies and algorithms essential for future VR and AR systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement simulation pipelines to investigate the impact of image features on eye-tracking algorithm performance.
• Validate experimental results and derive insights to enable hardware design optimization.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers across diverse disciplines throughout all stages of project development.
• Regularly communicate research agenda, progress, and results.
• Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences.

Requirements

• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
• Deep learning experience in computational imaging, explainable ML, or related topics.
• Experience with optimization or machine learning algorithms.
• Experience with scientific programming languages such as MATLAB or Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Nice-to-haves

• Past experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
• Experimental hands-on hardware experience in computational imaging, super-resolution imaging, or developing custom research-grade imaging and sensing systems.
• Experience with geometric optics, physical optics, and diffractive optics, including modeling and simulation.
• Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications in journals or at conferences.
