About the position

The Research Scientist Internship in Deep Learning at KLA is designed for students passionate about Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and GenAI research, particularly in image processing and computer vision applications. This internship offers an opportunity to work on state-of-the-art models and contribute to innovative projects within the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be involved in algorithm development, model implementation, and performance evaluation, while collaborating with a team of experts in the field.

Responsibilities

• Understand and derive algorithms from the latest literature and/or conferences.
• Implement state-of-the-art Deep Learning or GenAI models.
• Design and/or improve models for specific applications.
• Design new Deep Learning modules.
• Optimize and tune Deep Learning models.
• Evaluate and validate the performance of deep learning models.
• Perform A/B testing between models.
• Communicate ideas/findings to team members.

Requirements

• PhD (strongly preferred) or Master's Level Degree candidate graduating in one year in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields.
• Machine Learning/Deep Learning publication (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, KDD, SIGGRAPH) is required.
• Experience in DL/GenAI Foundation modeling is required.
• Proficiency in Python is required.
• Proficiency in at least one Deep Learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, PaddlePaddle or equivalent) is required.
